ART BY LOU ELLE

Lou Elle hangs a painting of a Greek landscape with white buildings and a blue sea on a wall above a beige sofa.

Lou Elle (b. Louise Elizabeth Collins) is a British artist and filmmaker based between London, Los Angeles, and Australia. Her bold, vibrant paintings transport viewers into sun-soaked, romantic daydreams of pools, beaches, and tropical or desert landscapes.

Louise studied Art Foundation at Brighton City College and Film & Television at University of the Arts London. Her commissioned works, displayed internationally, have garnered attention across the globe.

Alongside her visual practice, Louise works as a casting director in the film industry, with her aesthetic influenced by time spent in Hollywood, Cannes, Palm Springs and other sun-drenched places, whose memories offer an escape from the grey grit of London.

Her paintings are charged with life, each brushstroke an extension of her own vitality. Through her art, she celebrates nature, architecture, sunshine, and the joy of living to your fullest frequency. A love letter to beauty, femininity, peace, freedom and the allure of escape.
